Celebrating Indigenous Arts

The Nottoway Indian Tribe of Virginia was well represented at the Jamestown Indigenous Arts Festival. Staffing the tribe’s booth were Chief Lynette Allston, Council Chair Denise Walters, and spouse Joe Walters, who welcomed visitors and shared information about the tribe’s history and culture.

Tribal citizen Nathan Elliott showcased and sold his artwork at a neighboring booth, highlighting his creative talents. It was a beautiful day to engage with the community, celebrate Indigenous arts, and share the rich heritage and traditions of the Nottoway people.
