The Nottoway Indian Tribe hosted a booth at the Southampton Heritage Festival, an all-day celebration featuring exhibits that highlight local heritage, history, and family traditions. Representing the tribe at the booth were Chief Lynette Allston, Council Secretary Rick Kelly, Language Committee Chair Ben Walters, and Cultural Arts Committee Chair Kim Kelly, along with friends Sabiya Davis and Cynthia Pree.
During the event, Ben Walters demonstrated traditional flute-making techniques, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about this important cultural art form. The exhibit attracted many attendees and was enjoyed by visitors throughout the day.
